Here are a few variants. Just rough sketches, enough to get the general
idea. When we hit on a favorite, I'll do it up properly.

Hi all,
We're going to begin reaching out to potential sponsors for DebConf14 in
November, and are starting to compile a list of possible local sponsors
from Portland, as well as remote sponsors with a general interest in
Debian. If you have any suggestions, drop a note to me or Benjamin
Kerensa (or on IRC, in person, etc)
We're also looking for one more local volunteer to participate in the
sponsors-team, so let us know if you're interested, or know others who
might be interested.
Thanks!
Allison
Good news, everyone!
DebConf13 has successfully concluded, and Steve is helping to push out the
Final Report so we can get DC14 rolling. PSU has confirmed our dates for us
- last week of August 2014 - and we have a great start on that front!
Now, we need to start discussing a few items that need focus from early
stages and make sure people are prepared for what's happening. As wonderful
as Lucky Lab is, it's not a very efficient meeting place, and so we need to
come up with a, hopefully, slightly quieter, but still central, meeting
place where we can start plotting out our steps and keeping everyone on the
same page.
Ideas of where to meet? It seems Tuesday and Thursday evenings are hit and
miss with people, so I'm definitely open to looking at other evenings or
possibly even during the day on the weekends if that's more convenient for
people.
Don't make me start hunting everyone down individually. :)

Hey all,
I think we're due for another (post-DebConf) beering! The attempts at
Tuesday beerings seem to have been a mixed bag; Lucky Lab is less busy on
Tuesdays, but we also don't seem to get as many people showing up regularly.
So for this round, I'm proposing we do a Thursday beering again.

How's this sound?
On the DebConf 14 front, I think this is probably a worthwhile topic for
discussion:
https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf14/RequirementsGathering
I'm keen to start working in earnest on the question of replacing Pentabarf
as conference management software for DebConf 14. If anybody would like to
help start fleshing out the requirements for that (to be
confirmed/sanity-checked later with the global team), you're very welcome.
:)

Hello All,
I would propose we beer at the Jupiter tomorrow which having a Apache
CloudStack Party
http://www.oscon.com/oscon2013/public/schedule/detail/31419
For those who are not attending OSCON I'm sure crashing it would not
be hard.... I have not see any registration requirements or passes
needing flashing this week.

Hello happy Debian Portland People!
=== July Beering ====
So, now that we're well into July, it's time to figure out when the monthly
beering should be. Fair warning, end of July is insane for me, and I wont'
be able to attend or plan either of the last 2 weeks of July.
Is there interest for the beering to be the week of 15 July? Tuesday seemed
kinda quiet, so I'm thinking about moving back to Thursday (18 July).
Thoughts?
=== DebConf14: Call for Logo Design ===
And! DebConf14 planning - there are a few things we need to get up and
going; think about sponsorship and anyone who might want to give us money.
And... we need a logo.
Calling all designers! We need to come up with a DC14 logo for our
sponsorship brochures, for our DC14 talk next month, and for everything
DC14-related. Each DebConf has had its own logo that has incorporated Debian
in some capacity (swirl, lamp, whatever) with something unique to the host
city/country. You can find various teams' attempts at http://debconf.org.
Current (Dc13) logo can be found at debconf13.debconf.org. Last year's at
debconf12.debconf.org; 2011's at debconf11.debconf.org, etc.
If you have questions, let me know. We'll need to get some designs up to
choose from and schedule a time to vote on the best design very soon. I'd
like to have a design selected before we officially present DC14 to DebConf
on 17 August in Vaumarcus.
Thank you!
Patty

I see there is a monthly Portland beer session. When is the next event?
Anyone know of active developers in the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia area?
It appears the debian-seattle-soc has dispersed(or at least the ML
did) as per:
