Hi,
(Yes, I know, it's probably pretty narcissistic to start a mail off by
talking about myself, but hey)
As of yesterday, I'm in the Portland area, visiting my cousin (Marian
Verhelst) who lives with her husband and children in Beaverton.
I'd love to meet some local debian people, and had sent a mail to
-private suggesting we meet. Rodrigo Gallardo was the only person to
reply to that mail, apart from a suggestion by Ben Hutchings that I try
this list. Apparently Rodrigo isn't known yet in the local Debian
community...
So let's fix that, then. I had agreed with Rodrigo to meet this
wednesday around 6:30 PM near the river, have a walk there, look a bit
at the bridges etc, and then go to Bridgeport Brewery to check out the
local beer. Anyone else interested in joining in would, of course, be
welcome to do so.
Of course, I'm also interested in other suggestions, in case people
can't make it. Hey, I'm here to see the area :)
In addition, at debconf, Manoj had suggested he might be interested in
coming over from Seattle during the weekend, and meet up. While that
doesn't sound like a bad idea, I should note that of course I'm here
mainly to visit my cousin, and I can't be off with other people the
_whole_ weekend -- I'll want to do something with them during that time,
too, since they do have to go to work during the week. But beyond that,
I'm happy to meet up either on saturday or on sunday. Just let me know
'soon' :-)
Looking forward to see all of you,
